Today we mourn the loss of Pope Francis, whose love and faith in young people to change the world was an inspiration for all of us in school communities.  Pope Francis spoke of young people as ‘promises’ of the future-what a wonderful and hopeful reminder to all of us of how precious young people are.  A call to the revolution of tenderness towards all, especially those on the edges of society, marginalised by poverty or who experience prejudice and inequality was Pope Francis’ signature message.  He continuously reminded us that ‘no man is an island’ but that we need each other to survive and to thrive.

May Pope Francis rest in peace and may his prophetic gift to us be amplified by those who carry on the mission of the church. +
