Curriculum Booklet 2020-2023

Here at St Paul's, we operate a three year Key Stage 4. This means that students have three years in which to familiarise themselves with and prepare for their GCSE exams and vocational qualifications. A lot of thought and planning goes into this process and students follow a core curriculum of subjects along with option subjects in Humanities and Creative subjects. The following quote is an extract from the Ofsted report in 2007:

“Central to the good progress that students make is the well-conceived curriculum in Years 9, 10 and 11.  Courses have been carefully selected to raise standards and develop personalised learning.  The flexibility of the curriculum, combined with students’ good behaviour and attitudes, mean that learning is pursued with pleasure and combined with good achievement, which fulfils St. Paul’s Academy’s aim.”

Below is the Curriculum Booklet for students who will start Year 9 in September 2020. It contains subject information, exam board details and useful websites to assist your child with their studies. Students make their option choices in February of Year 8.
